  • The Next Chapter for Streetball? How Creators Are Taking Over Basketball

The Next Chapter for Streetball? How Creators Are Taking Over Basketball

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.

Every basketball player dreams of making it to the NBA — but for most, that dream goes unrealized.

“When you stop playing, a part of your identity as a basketball player fades,” says Scotty Weaver, a former college hooper turned basketball content creator. “It’s always that feeling of never making it.”

While playing overseas or in semi-pro leagues is still an option, it rarely comes with the recognition that the NBA offers. With The Next Chapter, Weaver is aiming to change that.

Co-founded with fellow basketball creator D’Vonte Friga, The Next Chapter (TNC) is a premier 1v1 basketball league spotlighting some of the most dynamic streetballers in the game. Players go head-to-head for cash prizes in a format reminiscent of cage fighting.

    The prologue

Weaver was in the streetball content world long before TNC, starting out working with BallisLife doing content with their East Coast squad, where he met standout player Isaiah Hodge, aka Slim Reaper. They left Ballislife and started making their own street ball content with a group called The Wild Hunt. Weaver would bring his Wild Hunt team to local parks and film five-on-five basketball videos.

“We had a bunch of guys who were characters,” Weaver says. “Slam dunkers, guys doing creative dribbling, big talkers. Everyone brought their own personality and energy.”

The five-on-five format helped draw big crowds, but it made it tough for Weaver to pay the players involved consistently.

“To help pay the team, we asked after the event if they wanted to run some one-on-ones with people at the park,” he explains. “When that video comes out, we’ll post it as the next chapter — and whatever it generates will be how we pay you. So your ability to earn is directly tied to your performance in the video.”

That model incentivized players to talk trash, play flashy and stand out, turning the games into even better content.

They started featuring one of their players, Lah Moon, in a one-on-one after every park run, challenging the best and bravest from the crowd. After a string of undefeated performances, Moon finally met his match in former college hooper Nasir Core, whose dominant showing made him a standout in the community.

Sensing they were onto something, Weaver brought Core in as another featured one-on-one player, laying the groundwork for what would eventually become The Next Chapter. Season One featured seven players, each compensated based on how well their videos performed. They shot all seven episodes in a single day and posted them over several months.

“Season one did great,” Weaver says. “Players started to see how much money they could make on this.”

What began as a way for players to make some extra money has unexpectedly evolved into a potential career path for streetball creators.

“We just paid attention to what people wanted to watch,” Weaver says. “What we’re building is a basketball league — whether it’s one-on-ones, two-on-twos, three-on-threes, or five-on-fives. Right now, we’re focused on ones because they’re far more marketable. But we never want to close ourselves off to the idea of doing it all.”

    The ‘UFC’ of hoops

TNC’s marketing strategy channels the spirit of Vince McMahon and Dana White, building stars by spotlighting unique personalities and skill sets. YouTube phenom Devonte Friga knows this process well, having grown his personal channel to over a million followers.

“We’re trying to build the UFC of one-on-one basketball,” Friga says.

He points to one of TNC’s standout players, J Lew, whom the marketing team cleverly labeled “the internet’s shiftiest hooper.”

“There are so many players like that — each with small, unique parts of their game that define who they are. Take NAS, for example. Online, he’s dominant. He doesn’t just win — he wins big — and makes sure everyone knows it. Then there’s Moon, whose unorthodox one-on-one style is so distinctive that NBA 2K flew him out to capture his crossover move, even though he’s not an NBA player. It’s those little things — the way a player stands out — that turn them into a star.”

The next chapter for The Next Chapter

Although most TNC players are streetballers, the league is experimenting with a new format on June 6: a one-on-one showdown between former NBA players Lance Stephenson and Michael Beasley, with $100,000 at stake.

The matchup will serve as the finale of Season 2, which featured 20 episodes of the two pros coaching opposing squads, building anticipation for their long-awaited faceoff. The event will be available via pay-per-view, a bold move for a league whose audience is accustomed to free content.

Still, Weaver is confident fans will see the value.

“I think it’s about proving to your audience that when you ask them to spend their money, there has to be a clear sense of value — like, wow, I actually got something great in return — rather than, this just feels like the same thing I was getting for free, but now I have to pay for it.”

While some details are still being finalized, Weaver estimates that moving forward, about 95% of TNC content will remain free, with roughly 5% behind a paywall.

While others — like former NBA star Tracy McGrady with his OBL league — have explored the 1v1 basketball space, The Next Chapter is carving its path from the ground up.

“Unlike Tracy’s league, we don’t need to be something big right away,” says Friga. “What we’re building is completely different, and I believe it has the potential to become a billion-dollar industry.”

  • When Automation Takes Over, Creation Will Take Off

When Automation Takes Over, Creation Will Take Off

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.

When I think about the future, I don’t picture humans cleaning gutters or mowing lawns. I picture something else entirely — something more imaginative. We’re quickly approaching a world where menial tasks are handled by machines that don’t sleep, don’t take breaks and never get tired. And once that shift is fully realized, we’re left with a bigger question: what do we do with all that time?

For me, the answer is creation.

We’re at the edge of something massive. Automation is coming, and it’s going to be fast, sweeping and disruptive. But if we embrace what makes us human — our creativity, our ability to connect, to imagine, to express — we won’t be displaced. We’ll be elevated.

Automation isn’t the end — It’s the beginning

When the robots start working 24 hours a day and only need an hour to re-oil or recharge, there’s no way we’ll compete with that kind of efficiency — and we shouldn’t want to. That’s not where our value lies. Once those menial jobs are taken care of, it opens a door. A door back to something we’ve been losing: time to think, to philosophize, to explore the meaning of life, just like they did in Roman and Grecian times.

We’ll spend less time doing tasks like driving cars, which honestly can’t happen soon enough. The number of people who die every year in car accidents is staggering. Imagine a world where those wrecks, the repairs, the hospital visits, all of that… gone. That’s what’s ahead.

But with that change comes a shift in identity. A lot of people find purpose in their jobs, even the repetitive ones. If we lose those, we’ve got to find purpose elsewhere. I believe that the purpose is in creating.

So if you’re leading a company, start carving out space for that now. Give your people room to create. I don’t mean just artistic stuff — I mean letting them bring ideas, build something new, try things out because the ones who learn how to create in this new world are the ones who’ll stay valuable.

Art will lead the next revolution

We’re going to see an onslaught of art in every form — music, film, writing, you name it. That’s not speculation; it’s already happening. I was just on a call about launching an AI film company focused on short-form video and commercials. Things are moving so fast that it’s hard to keep up.

There was a commercial shot with a person filmed using just an iPhone. A few back-and-forth shots, handed over to AI — and boom, it became a full ad. That’s all it took. And now imagine what happens when that speed, that capability, meets human creativity.

But even with AI in the mix, there’s a twist only we can bring. AI is just remixing what we’ve already done. We, on the other hand, can create things that have never been seen before. Entire worlds. New perspectives. Things that AI might eventually mimic, sure — but we’ll always be a step ahead in originality.

We’re not just going to consume more art. We’re going to make more of it, and we’ll make it differently. In music, for example, AI is already writing songs. I’ve got a friend who used AI to turn one of his poems into a bluesy song. My friend told the program what kind of voice, what style, and that was it. When I played it for people here at the studio, they didn’t even realize it was AI. They just said, “Yeah, that’s not bad.”

And that’s where it gets interesting. What happens when someone who is musically gifted takes that tool and uses it as a conductor, controlling everything from rhythm to tone to background strings, crafting something original? That’s the revolution we’re heading into—not one where AI replaces us, but where it gives creators the power to be the entire orchestra.

That’s where leaders need to pay attention. Don’t just chase the tech—figure out how to get it into the hands of your most creative people. Let them drive it.

    The human touch is irreplaceable

Sure, you can make a song or a film with AI. But you can’t replicate the feeling of a live concert. I just came back from a Vivaldi concert in Vienna — nine musicians, mostly violinists, playing The Four Seasons. You can’t AI that. Not really. Not the energy, not the emotion of watching someone perform right in front of you.

That’s where the human part stays irreplaceable. We’ll use AI to create better art, sure. But we’ll still crave the live experience, the human behind the music, the emotion behind the words.

And maybe, just maybe, this opens doors for people who’ve never had access before. Before, you had to go through all these steps— find a band, book studio time and get a label deal. Now? Anyone with talent and drive can make music, make films, tell stories. That levels the playing field in a big way. The truly creative people, who know how to use the tools, are the ones who will rise.

If you’re running a business, that shift matters. You’re not just looking at resumes anymore — you’re looking for raw creativity and people who know how to work with these tools. That’s who’ll bring new ideas to the table and move things forward.

Let the machines work — we’ll create

The speed at which this is happening — it’s not 10 to 20 years. It’s 10 to 20 months. And we’ll be in a whole new creative realm. So yes, automation is coming. Yes, AI is here. But it’s not something to fear.

Because what’s left — what remains — is us. Our ability to interact, to live with each other, to make life something beautiful. What automation leaves behind is not emptiness. It’s space. Space for imagination. Space for art. Space to figure out what it really means to be human.

And that, to me, is worth everything.

  • The CX leaders’ blueprint to winning over the CFO

The CX leaders’ blueprint to winning over the CFO

As a CX leader, you clearly know how essential customer experience is to long-term business success. But knowing isn’t enough, especially when you’re seeking funding, headcount, or executive support.

To make real progress, you need more than a compelling narrative. You need a powerful business case. And that means speaking the language of your CFO.

Here’s the good news:  bridging the gap between customer experience and finance is not only possible—it’s one of the smartest moves you can make.

Below are five reasons why every CX leader should build a strong partnership with their finance team:

The following post references our latest e-guide, “The CX Leader’s Guide to the CFO: A how-to workbook to build a finance-friendly CX business case”. To download the free e-guide, click here!

    1. Strategic expertise that strengthens your program

Let’s be honest, most CX leaders aren’t financial experts. That’s okay. But to get your program funded and prioritized, you need alignment with company-wide strategy and budget realities.

That’s where the CFO comes in. A strong finance partner provides strategic guidance on where CX fits into broader business goals. They also help evaluate cost structures, frame the investment conversation, and align your CX program with key priorities like growth, risk management, and long-term value creation. According to McKinsey, companies that align customer experience with strategic priorities see 15–20% improvement in sales conversion rates and reduce churn.

Pro tip: Invite Finance into the planning phase of your next initiative, not just the pitch. Their input early on will help your program land better later.

    2. New insights from familiar metrics

You might already track metrics like NPS or CSAT. But finance leaders think in terms of metrics like customer lifetime value (CLV), acquisition costs, or average recurring revenue (ARR).

By collaborating with your CFO, you’ll gain access to new layers of analysis that connect CX results to business impact. Want to prove your program reduces churn, increases retention, or drives revenue per customer? Finance has the data and tools to help you tell that story.

Bottom line: Better insights lead to better decisions and stronger top-line results.

    3. Executive advocacy opens doors and broadens impact

In organizations without a Chief Experience Officer, having a CX-savvy CFO can be a game-changer.

Your CFO acts as a powerful advocate across the executive team, the board, and investors. When your finance team champions CX, it brings legitimacy, visibility, and urgency to your initiatives—and increases the likelihood that you’ll get the resources you need.

    They can:

    • Elevate CX in cross-functional discussions
    • Help prioritize it within business-wide strategies
    • Advocate for budget and technology investments
    • Link CX efforts to enterprise goals and ROI

    4. A culture that puts the customer first

It’s one thing to say your customer-centric—it’s another to show it at every level of the organization.

According to Forrester, customer-obsessed companies are 4x more likely to achieve 10%+ revenue growth year over year. Building that kind of culture starts with buy-in from the top, including the CFO.

When your finance team backs CX, it sends a strong signal to the rest of the business: the customer experience matters. This type of alignment helps everyone—from product to support to marketing—rally around delivering consistently excellent experiences.

    5. Program (and job) security in tough times

Economic uncertainty. Budget scrutiny. Rising cost pressure. In challenging business environments, customer experience programs are often vulnerable to cuts, unless the CFO sees them as a source of long-term value.

A CFO who understands the ROI of CX is less likely to view it as a soft cost. Instead, they’ll advocate for protecting (or even expanding) CX budgets because they know the payoff: higher retention, stronger margins, and increased revenue.

Many iOS games are designed for quick action gameplay that is best suited for the few spare moments in your day. There is a small subset of games that can be played for hours on end. In fact, these games are ones that you set aside time to play to truly savor.

    Death Road to Canada

Get ready to do whatever you can to survive a road like no other. The game begins by letting you team up, and then its off to your destination. Along the way, you will run into other bands of survivors, car troubles, and of course zombies. Your crew will need to scavenge for resources, battle back zombies, and face the consequences of a crisis in psyche due to the trying circumstances.

The game does a great job of balancing variety, challenge, and humor. You will die often, but the game still entices you to retry to make it to your destination. There are multiple ways to change how you play to survive as long as you can. The game is filled with different circumstances and situations to contend with along the death road.

    Kalimba

Kalimba has players controlling two characters at the same time to help restore light to the island. Are you up to the task in this beautiful puzzle platformer?

Visually, Kalimba is gorgeous. The game features an aesthetically pleasing minimalist design that is full of geometric shapes that come to life. Everything is rendered in 2-D with bright and vibrant colors and amazing textures. The totems and narrator have distinctive appearances so it’s always easy to tell each character apart from one another. Environments dynamically change once the toggles get activated, and it’s all done in a seamless transition that’s rather mesmerizing with particle effects.

Animations in Kalimba are buttery smooth and fluid, with zero lag on my iPhone 7. There’s also voice acting through the narration, and it’s incredibly well done. A quirky soundtrack plays in the background, which fits in with the overall quirky theme of the game. Overall, Kalimba is beautifully designed inside and out in terms of visual and audio.

    Thimbleweed Park

Thimbleweed Park is a point-and-click adventure game that’s dark, mysterious, and packed full of humor.

The classic style of point and click adventure games of the past like Secret of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, and others are on full display in Thimbleweed Park. You get to play as two FBI Agents who are faced with a small town murder to solve. There are numerous quirky characters to interact with as you play through a storyline that is about a dozen hours.

    Cat Quest

Cat Quest is a fantastic open world RPG dungeon crawler that’s filled with dragons, cats, and epic loot.

Since Cat Quest is an adventure game at heart, players discover and unravel the story of a cat hero who carries the mark of the “Dragonblood” on his head. Once the premise of the plot is revealed, you’ll embark on a journey of getting strong enough to defeat the dragons. All of your traveling is done on the overworld, as well as combat. Villages and NPCs reveal themselves to you as the story unfolds. Everything is told through quests, whether they’re main quests relating to the story, or side quests that you can do for experience, loot, and rewards.

The biggest draw of Cat Quest is the fact that everything is done in real-time, so there’s no waiting around. As you move around on the overworld, you’ll see enemies scurrying about around you. You can engage in combat with them on the overworld, or just avoid them altogether if they’re too tough.

    Space Marshals 2

Space Marshals 2 is the sequel to the original Space Marshals. It’s an immersive tactical combat stealth game where you lay down the law.

The sequel continues the style of the original with a top down shooter adventure that gives you dual stick controls, and a story based adventure to play through. Both editions emphasize tactical combat to allow you to take out enemies from behind with stealth, as well as flank enemies and take cover. The new version seems to have more happening at once, and yet it’s easier to manage all that’s going on. Space Marshals 2 presents relatively expansive mission maps with numerous pockets of enemies. There are also blockades, transitions, and bosses to contend with across the 20 deluxe missions.

Space Marshals 2 is beautiful and packs in a ton of action. You’ll have a hard time putting this one down once you get going.

  • AI/Chat GPT take over mobile app development in the future.

AI/Chat GPT take over mobile app development in the future.

Technology advancements in the industry have contributed to major transformations in business operations. Such transformations are not only limited to business operations but also impact the process of business planning. A well-known product of such technological advancements in the present scenario is Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is further being used to create disruptive products in the industry.

To retain the business position in such a transforming scenario, it is important to identify and understand such industry trends.

The reports reflect that with the help of AI, businesses can enhance their internal creativity. Also, AI can play a major role in internal or strategic decision-making. More than 60% of organizations have included a share of AI in their digital budgets. About 50% of global organizations have accepted that they already adopted AI in any of their business functions.

    What is AI?

The industry trends reflect that AI is the most common and widely adopted by businesses in the present scenario. The application of AI is not limited to a specific area. As it helps in product planning, designing, marketing, and enhancing customer service experience. But to proceed with the application of AI for your business it is important to have a proper understanding of what AI is.

Artificial intelligence is defined as the ability of machines to make decisions based on available data and information. As a broad understanding, it can be stated that AI allows a machine to interact similarly to humans. It can make decisions, sense patterns as well as interpret questions asked. With the changing time, organizations such as OpenAI are working on enhancing the capabilities of AI in modern times.

To learn more about Artificial Intelligence and how it can help your business to succeed, you can read our detailed blog.

ChatGPT has made headlines in every form. Everyone whether a student, a professional, an employee, or a business is concerned about “What ChatGPT is?”. And what impact will it have in the future?

As for the web search reports, everyone is curious to know what ChatGPT is?, will it transform the way of searching over Google? Will it take away jobs? What is the extent to which ChatGPT can adopt learning?

    What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an acronym for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, which in simple terms is an AI-powered chatbot. It has been developed by the America-based research organization “Open AI”. The aim of developing ChatGPT is to enhance the capabilities of search engines and transform search processes. It has been developed on a deep or machine learning technology that allows the chatbot to generate human-like answers. Its machine-learning ability allows the chatbot to process the user’s input, search it across the online database, and provide a personalized response.

ChatGPT is much different from a search engine/tool. Search engines can provide you with the information that is available over the internet in a raw form. ChatGPT on the other hand, collects the requested information processes it, and provides a personalized response to the user. Such capability of ChatGPT has contributed towards improved human-machine interaction, which can be used for your business growth.

Further, the integration of ChatGPT in the business’s operational process requires you to understand the pros and cons of such AI-based tools.

    Pros of ChatGPT

The potential benefits that ChatGPT offers to businesses are:

    • Personalization and customer experience: The main advantage of ChatGPT is its approach to personalized services. ChatGPT processes user input searches the database and provides the information in more of a human context.
    • Improved Market Research: For a business, ChatGPT can present a combined report of the industry information available over the Internet. The use of ChatGPT by organizations can help to spend less time on research.
    • Better customer service: ChatGPT with the latest updates can be integrated with the organization’s application/website. Hence, it can be used to replace existing chatbots and to provide customers with improved support services.
    • Internal Assistance: With the help of its artificial intelligence combined with information from the internet, ChatGPT can also guide and assist businesses.

    Cons of ChatGPT

Along with the identified benefits of ChatGPT, there also exist certain key challenges to be considered.

      • Chances of Inaccuracy: It uses its artificial intelligence to deliver results, but still, the results are based on the information available publicly. Hence the provided results even personalized can be incorrect.
      • Cannot properly be aligned with human emotions: The human pattern for conversation is quite unpredictable and complex. So it can not confidently be defined that all the answers presented by ChatGPT consider human emotions and can interpret language patterns.
      • Bias Issue: The user may feel that responses from ChatGPT are biased if it does not match the user’s ideology.

Can ChatGPT help in app development?

A most common question that is commonly asked over the internet is “Can ChatGPT contribute towards mobile app development?”.

ChatGPT can help in the following areas of App Development:

    Idea Generation

Focusing on the working of ChatGPT, it is able to understand the range of inputs. It can process them and can provide results accordingly. Also, it can assist developers in the process of mobile app development. ChatGPT can provide users with diversified information and industry trends which can be used to develop a distinctive idea for Android/iOS app development. Such assistance may include providing personalized information about the app development process.

Suggestion/Guidance in the mobile app development process

In the app development process, ChatGPT can help you to identify an appropriate platform. Also, it can provide you with suggestions for the use of development tools, syntax, and other elements (color pallets and functions). As for the advanced tools, with the help of AI, ChatGPT can provide you with snippets of codes that can be used in the mobile app development process.

Help in understanding the issue in the process

Also, ChattGPT can assist with any issue or challenge being faced in the app development process. As for the app development process, it can be reflected that all the necessary information is available over the Internet. But ChatGPT can help to process such information and provide relevant information based on the question of the user.

    Enhancing application effectiveness

Also, ChatGPT can be used to enhance the features and the applicability of the mobile app. For instance, it can provide a more advanced version of a chatbot. Such chatbots would deliver advanced support and services to users. Further, it could also be used as a tool to debug the code and troubleshoot the coding operations.

Hence, the answer to the question asked is “Yes”, ChatGPT can definitely contribute to the app development process. A professional app developer can take the help of ChatGPT to clarify his/her doubts.

Will ChatGPT take over mobile app development?

The defined capabilities of ChatGPT may have made you think that ChatGPT with certain modifications can take over mobile app development. But it is not possible.

It is well-accepted that ChatGPT has its own capabilities that can assist the developers in the mobile app development process. But still, it lacks the ability to develop a version of the app on its own. The mobile app development process involves both technical as well as human expertise. The technology can be used to evaluate and understand the present trends. But predicting or understanding emerging trends require human intelligence.

Also, ChatGPT can provide you with written codes for the command inserted, but testing and checking the applicability of the code requires human intervention. As ChatGPT does not have an internal testing module that can check or validate the written codes. Hence, it can not create an entire code for an application but can work as per user command. Further, the user would be required to recheck the results to ensure accuracy.

Based on such it can be justified that ChatGPT can help in accelerating the app development process, but cannot take over the entire mobile app development process.

As of the present industry trends, it can be justified that every business is adopting approaches to mobile app development. Such is important to ensure better user/customer engagement and interaction. To fulfill such industry needs, certain AI-based templates are available which can be used for app development. The templates provide the same solution to every user irrespective of their needs. The same can be identified to be the issue with the ChatGPT. As for business growth and success in the present industry, creativity and innovation are important. Hence, rather than looking out for mobile app development options over ChatGPT, you can get in touch with our team of experienced app developers. They can guide you throughout the process of custom app development and enhance your business performance.

Future Trends with Respect to ChatGPT

ChatGPT was launched in 20222, and within weeks it reached more than 10 million users and was all over social media. It was also termed “Super AI” or an advanced version of AI. Tech enthusiasts utilized the software in a number of ways to understand or evaluate its capabilities. Also, Microsoft’s invested more than a billion dollars in ChatGPT. Such investment can further help in improving ChatGPT capabilities.

OpenAI has introduced an advanced version of ChatGPT, i.e., ChatGPT 4. This version is under the trial phase and is only available to a limited number of users. But the version would bring in new and enhanced capabilities for the AI tool. As of the near future, it can be predicted that trends in AI can bring innovations in the app development process, but will not be able to take over it completely.

    Conclusion

It can be concluded that AI is an effective tool that can help businesses to grow. But in the process of utilizing AI, it is important to consider its pros and con. ChatGPT can be identified to be a major advancement in AI, but still, there are certain limitations in its operations that are to be considered.

The blog covers every aspect of why ChatGPT is beneficial as well as its limitations. Hence, being a business owner, you should have an understanding of the industry trends and associated challenges with such trends. Such understanding will help to make decisions regarding business planning and growth.
