    Getting started is easy. Each games starts with a randomly chosen letter from A to Z and give possible next letters. Some of those are valid to create words while others are not. When you select a valid letter, it adds to the words and earns points. An invalid word deducts points.

    That process continues until a complete word is formed. You can submit the word to head to the next round or try to extend it. The round continues until no further extensions are possible, leading to a new random letter.

    As a nice touch, the game is playable without an Internet connection, making it perfect for a long flight or a car ride without Wi-Fi.

    Getting started with adaptive anchor banners

    Adaptive anchor banners are a great option for AdMob publishers who want the simplest solution to getting the best banner ad returned across any device.  This format is still in beta on Google Ad Manager, so publishers who want to try it out on that platform should reach out to their account managers or contact our support team.

    Adaptive anchor banners are currently only available for anchored placements—banners locked to the top or bottom of the screen. However, AdMob is actively developing another adaptive algorithm for in-line banners placed in scroll views or within content.

    Downloading iOS/iPadOS 18.4.1, tvOS 18.4.1, and macOS Sequoia won’t bring any new features, but will fix major security vulnerabilities and other bugs.

    You can download the iOS/iPad 18.4.1. update by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone or iPad.

    For the mac, selecting the Apple Menu and then About This Mac. Select Software Update to start the process. The download is large, so expect the entire process to take more than an hour.

    The Apple TV update should automatically be downloaded.

    If you haven’t already enabled automatic updates, you can download the software by heading to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software. Right next to the button to update software is the toggle switch to turn on automatic updates.

However, they first wanted to determine whether this potential change would lower revenues. They set up a test with a control group and two exposed groups, which showed them that this proposed change would not hurt revenue.  As a result, the feature increased daily engagement by 5 percent, and articles read on the app rose by 6 percent.

    Using the app is simple, easy, and is sure to help you reconnect with nature. To begin, you’ll answer a few questions like how long you are on the iPhone per day. It provides some humbling stats about how much time you’re giving up looking at the screen.

    To help, you can then choose what apps are distracting you the most, whether it’s social media or something else. When you want to use one of apps, get on your shoes and head outside. The app requires you to take a picture of your hand actually touching grass to unlock the apps.

    You can then customize how long you’d like to unlock the apps, including 15 minutes, 60 minutes, or until midday. The app uses computer vision to make sure you’re actually touching grass.

    Touch Grass is a free download now on the App Store for the iPhone. With the free version, you can block two apps before touching grass.

    To unlock all of the app’s features, you’ll need an optional subscription of $5.99 per month or $49.99 yearly. With the yearly option, you can make use of a free, seven-day trial.

    Subscribers will be able to block as many distracting apps as you choose and see detailed historical data.

    Another unique feature of the app is that you can choose to unlock your apps without actually touching grass. You’ll receive one free skip per month if you choose. For any more skips, you can actually pay with an in-app purchase, with a twist. You can select anywhere from $0.99 to $9.99 for each skip. Fifty percent of that revenue will be charities that plant trees

    Trump Set to Meet With Top Aides to Decide TikTok’s Fate


    President Trump plans to meet with top White House officials on Wednesday to discuss a proposal that could secure TikTok’s future in the United States, two people familiar with the plans said.

    Mr. Trump will consider a proposal for a new ownership structure for the popular video app, which is owned by the Chinese internet giant ByteDance. Lawmakers and other U.S. officials have argued that the app’s ties to China raise national security concerns, and a federal law that was passed last year requires TikTok to change its ownership or face a ban in the United States. The latest deadline for that ban is Saturday.

    The meeting is set to include Vice President JD Vance, whom Mr. Trump tapped to find an arrangement to save the popular app early in February, and other top officials, the two people said on the condition of anonymity. The new ownership structure, they said, could include Blackstone, the private equity giant, and Oracle, the technology company.

    The meeting is another twist in the long national saga of TikTok, which surged in popularity in the United States despite sustained and deep scrutiny in Washington and state capitals. Mr. Trump, who made repeated assurances that he wants to save the app, extended the deadline for a deal in January and suggested that he might do so again if a suitable plan was not reached by early this month.

    TikTok did not immediately return a request for comment.

    It is not clear that the kind of deal under discussion would comply with the law, which calls for no more than 20 percent of TikTok or its parent company to be owned by people or companies in so-called foreign adversary countries, a list that includes China.

    The law also bars a new entity from working with ByteDance to operate its video-recommendation technology or creating a data-sharing agreement.

    Mr. Trump suggested last week that he might relax upcoming tariffs on China in exchange for the country’s support of a deal.

    TikTok has maintained that it is not for sale, in part, it says, because the Chinese government would block a deal.

    You can download the iOS/iPad 18.3 update by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone or iPad.

    A highlight of the update is the addition of Priority Notifications to Apple Intelligence. That will place notifications that might need your immediate attention on top and more visible.

    Eight new emojis have also been added: face with bags under eyes, fingerprint, leafless tree, root vegetable, harp, shovel, splatter, and the Flag of Sark.

    – Priority notifications appear at the top of your notifications, highlighting important notifications that may require your immediate attention

    Photos

    – Consistent filtering options in all collections, including the ability to sort by oldest or newest first in Photos
    – Option to sort albums by Date Modified in Photos

    – Ambient Music offers the ability to instantly play music from Control Center, giving access to a set of hand-curated playlists that offer soundtracks for daily life
    – Apple Fitness+ Collections can now be added to Library
    – Matter-compatible robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled in the Home app as well as be added to scenes and automations
    – Support for 10 new system languages including Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu

    As an avid gamer, every year I look forward to spending time with developers at GDC to celebrate together and learn from their successes. We are all disappointed that this year’s conference was postponed, but we applaud the organizers for taking steps to protect our global community. 

    Although we won’t be gathering in person this year, the Google team is hosting the Google for Games Developer Summit, a free, digital-only experience where developers can watch the announcements and session content that was planned for GDC. We still wanted to share these updates with you because we think these new products will help developers succeed and are a direct response to feedback from our developer community. 

    As we study emerging gaming trends one of the most consistent things we’ve noticed over the years is that those who build a strong games business always put players first. That means deeply understanding players at every stage of their app journey. Today, we’re announcing new solutions that help you launch a game people love, improve it based on player insights, and earn more during the time that someone is engaged with your game. 

    Launch a game players love with scaled user testing

    Appealing to players at launch is essential to the success of your game. Based on recent Google internal data, more than half of installs come within the first 8 weeks of an app’s release. To make the most of this influx of users, leading developers like Big Fish Games test their apps in beta before releasing them publicly.  That’s why last year we introduced open testing in the Google Play Console to help you get early feedback from real users before your full release. 

    To get even more testers into your app, you’ll soon be able to promote Android games with open testing in Google Ads as well. By running open testing ads in App campaigns, you can drive early users to your app to test things like app stability, user retention, monetization, and effectiveness of ad creatives—then use the learning to improve your results when you launch. 

    In one example, Chinese developer NetEase used open testing ads to reach more beta users that helped them optimize in-app purchase behavior based on open testing data.  For their new game, Dawn of Isles, Netease was able to double in-app purchases which ultimately led to higher lifetime value (LTV) at launch.
